Suraj, who struggled with his serve initially, bounced back in style to beat Delhi’s Aditya Vikram 7-5, 6-2 to set the tone for the day’s proceedings.

Prajwal, top-seeded in U-14 section, took home the top honours by crushing Shaurya Dhankar 6-4, 6-1 in the final clash.

Nayanika Reddy continued her rich vein of form nailing top-seed from Karnataka Dhruthi Venugopal in straight sets to pocket the girls’ under-14 title. The Andhra Pradesh girl won  6-0, 7-5.

It was a good day at office for Andhra girls as D Mahita snuffed out the Challenge of local lass SP Ritu in straight sets for the under-16 title. Mahita shrugged off a late challenge from Ritu to emerge a 6-4, 7-5 winner.

Earlier, Mahita registered a comfortable 6-3, 6-4 victory over State-mate Nayanika Reddy in her semifinal encounter.  Ritu warded off a stiff threat from  Dhruthi T Venugopal to make her way to the final round.
