Hearing a public interest litigation by S Vasudevan, a City-based advocate and Party in person, the division bench comprising Justice Manjula Chellur issued the notice.

The petitioner had moved the High Court following the cancellation of semifinal and the allegation of misuse of funds.

The petitioner had sought a direction to the Union of India to  probe into the IPL chairman’s involvement in betting, match fixing, money laundering and violation of foreign exchange regulation by IPL  franchisees and to deal with them deftly and punish them legally.

The petitioner had said that cricket, once known as a gentle man’s game, has now been taken over by “Indian Political Leaders” as the IPL authorities are indulging in politics and running the show according to their whims and fancies, totally ignoring the interest of the game lovers. There  is no transparency in the game.

About the dealings of the KSCA, he has said that it is not transparent and lacked accountability. Citing the incident of printing tickets of lower denomination  during the current season, he said, this was done to evade tax liability. “The matter has also been raised in the Assembly,” he said.
