<p align="justify" class="title">A 24-year old youth, who was said to have been killed in the communal violence at Kasganj on Republic Day, along with saffron activist Chandan Gupta, surfaced on Tuesday.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">The youth, Rahul Upadhyaya, was produced before the media by police in Kasganj to scotch rumours of his death in the violence.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">Condolence messages poured on social media after posts that Rahul had also been "killed" in the clashes surfaced.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">He said that he was not present at Kasganj when the violence broke out.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">"I was at my village. I came to know about my 'death' from social media. Some people spread rumours that I had been killed in the violence. People started posting condolence messages also," Rahul told reporters.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">Rumours of Rahul's death had spread tension in the riot-torn town.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">The "dead" youth met police officers at Kasganj on Tuesday, who then produced him before the media.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">The police said that four people had been taken into custody on charges of spreading false rumours on social media.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">The situation in riot-torn Kashganj remained peaceful on Tuesday with no report of any untoward incident from anywhere.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">Sources said that over 125 people had been arrested in connection with the violence.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">Sources said that the police had been conducting raids in different parts of the state to nab Waseem, the person, who reportedly fired at Chandan during the clashes.</p>
