The entrance exam consists of two papers. The first paper consists of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for BE and BTech courses. The second paper consists of mathematics, aptitude test and drawing for BArch and BPlanning courses.

Nearly 26,000 engineering seats across the country including the 13,000 seats from National Institutes of Technology will be available for AIEEE aspirants.

On tips for answering the question paper, Dr MK Raghavendra, who teaches Physics at BASE Institute, said students should chart out a strategy based on time management.   “Dedicate 45 minutes to each of the three subjects at the first go. This will ensure the students to pass with minimum cut off marks,”suggested Dr Raghavendra.

-Students should reach the test venue at least an hour before the scheduled examination time
-  The examination may have differential marking for different questions
-  Read instructions on the AIEEE question paper carefully
- Solve the paper based on a time management strategy
- Allot the first three to five minutes completely to read the question paper
-  Do not spend more than one and a half hours on one subject alone
-  Do not miss out on the easier question in other subjects
- For each incorrect response, one fourth of the total marks allotted to the question will be deducted, hence do not guess the answers
-  More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked
- Stay and practice relaxation techniques on the day of examination
