Dakshina Kannada district PU College Principals' Association has come up with a novel initiative of launching online result processing system for I PU students of Dakshina Kannada district through SuVidya portal.
Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) Director C Shikha launched the software, developed by Aculogics, a Shivamogga-based firm. The website of Dakshina Kannada PU College Principals' Association (www.dkpucpa.com) will provide a link for the results, wherein the students can check the results by submitting details of registration number and date of birth. With this, Dakshina Kannada PU College Principals' Association wants to establish transparency, clarity and uniformity in the I PU results. Further, information collected about the students will be kept a secret. There will be a centralised system which will be monitored by Deputy Director of PU Board in Dakshina Kannada district.
With the software, the students can check their results sitting in their homes. Further, the software will also provide result statistics on the basis of language, category, sex (boys and girls). Colleges that cannot print the result sheets in A3 size can go to the DDPU office and get the approved results without going to the cyber centre or photocopy centres. The portal will also help in getting the hall ticket as well. After getting the results, students can also download provisional marks card as well.
There are 38,402 I PU students in DK district, of which 19,543 are boys and 18,859 are girls. Among the students, 4,936 are pursuing Arts streams, 16,218 in commerce stream and 17,248 are in science stream. There are 198 PU colleges in Dakshina Kannada, of which 53 are government PU Colleges and 42 are aided colleges.
Stating that the initiative is a first of its kind in Karnataka, Shikha said that she will issue a circular to all the districts to adopt such an initiative for announcing I PU results. Further, the announcement of results online will not give scope for confusion among the parents and students.
