Tipsy man falls to death from IV floor

The victim, Murali Dwarakanath hailed from Mysore and was staying alone on the fourth floor of a building at South End 'D' Cross in J P Nagar. According to the police, an inebriated Murali returned on his motorcycle around 00.30 am. On entering the room, Murali realised that he had left the key in the vehicle. He came out and sat on the parapet wall. But he lost balance and fell down.

A grievously injured Murali was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died hours later. He had narrated the incident to his neighbours at the hospital, police said.

The post-mortem, conducted at KIMS, confirmed heavy traces of alcohol in Murali’s body.
The body was taken to Mysore for last rites. Murali is survived by his mother and a brother. J P Nagar police have registered a case of unnatural death.

Motorcyclist killed

A motorcyclist was killed on the spot and the pillion rider sustained grievous injuries as a four-wheeler rammed into the bike they were riding in White Field on Sunday.

The dead has been identified as Santosh (22), a resident of Kadugodi. The injured Prakash Kumar is battling for life at a private hospital.

Santosh was running a hotel, police said. The accident took place when Santosh was returning after closing the hotel. The driver of the four-wheeler fled the spot, the police added.
