Former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram "horrified" after hearing coffee, tea prices at Chennai Airport Coffee Day. Chidambaram's tweet on sky-high beverage prices at the Coffee went viral on Sunday.
When the Senior Congress Leader stopped for a tea at the Coffee Day, the prices of hot beverages shocked him.
"At Chennai Airport Coffee Day I asked for tea. Offered hot water and tea bag, price Rs 135. Horrified, I declined. Was I right or wrong?" he wrote.

After learning about the cost of a tea, Chidambaram asked for the price of a coffee, which made him wonder whether he was "outdated".
"Coffee Rs 180. I asked who buys it? Answer was 'many'. Am I outdated?", he tweeted.

In a similar incident in 2016, popular Malayalam Actor Anusree wrote about shelling out Rs 680, for a coffee, one black tea and two puffs at a restaurant in Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.
