<p>A 40-year-old tusker died in a fight with another male elephant near Hosagadde under Mathigodu range of forest, Nagarahole National Park limits on Monday.</p>.<p>According to assistant conservator of forests S R Prasanna Kumar, the incident occurred at around 5.30 am and the tusker was gored by the other jumbo. It sustained serious injuries on its stomach and collapsed.</p>.<p>Forest personnel found the elephant lying in a pool of blood and battling for life when they were on patrol at around 10 am. It breathed its last as its internal organs were damaged in the fight.</p>.<p>Veterinarian Dr Najeebul Rehman conducted the post-mortem, before the final rites were performed.</p>
