Massage parlour raid: 3 arrested

CCB sleuths and Barke police raided a massage parlour at KSRTC bus stand in Mangaluru and arrested three persons.

According to City Police Commissioner T R Suresh, the arrested are Umesh, Jagadish and Mahendra Kumar. Acting on a tip-off that the accused were running a prostitution ring in the guise of a parlour, the police conducted a raid and rescued four women.

Woman assaulted

A woman who was running a mobile canteen was allegedly assaulted by the owner of a hotel and others at Kuntikana in Mangaluru on Sunday.

The accused, Rakshith Shetty , reportedly destroyed food items kept in an Omni and also damaged the car, Kamalakshi stated in her complaint.

Sand seized

Officials from the Revenue, Mines and Geology Department and police seized 230 loads of sand that were stored in a vacant site at Neermarga on the outskirts of Mangaluru.

Acting on a tip-off that sand is being stored in a vacant land, DC Sasikanth Senthil constituted a team led by Probationary IAS officer Gyanendra.
