Members of Nalike Samaja Seva Sangha, Belthangady taluk committee, have condemned the remarks on Nalike community (demi-god performers) allegedly made by RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat.

Addressing reporters here on Wednesday, Association President S Prabhakar Shantikodi said that the RSS leader, during a protest meet in Kairangala has allegedly stated, "The demi-god performer is not in his proper mental condition," which is derogatory.

'Condemnable statement'

"The statement is condemnable and amounts to the atrocity of Dalit community. A criminal case must be filed against Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat and he should be put behind the bars," he said.

Complaints have been submitted at Belthangady and Konaje police stations in this regard.

"By making such a statement, Bhat has shown he has no regard to the tradition of demi-god performances, which is been revered by people in the region. Bhat is a fake Hindu leader and believes in carrying out cheap politics," he added

"Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat has to tender an unconditional apology to the Nalike community and to the people. Or else stern protests would be inevitable," he said and added that the members of the association would wave black flags in protest in the programmes attended by Bhat, if he does not apologise.

Association General Secretary Shyam Sundar Belthangady, Youth wing president Harish Navuru, former president Sesappa K Nalike Aladangadi and Vice President Ramu Shishila were present in the press meet.
