Last Updated 13 April 2018, 13:46 IST

The BJP national president Amit Shah said on Friday that there was a wave in favour of the party across the state.

About his maiden visit to Belagavi, he said that he was extremely happy to visit the historic place.

"This is the land that rebelled against the colonial rule for the first time in India. I am happy to be here at the land of revolution," Shah said.

"The BJP has taken up extensive campaigning this time. There is a wave against the Siddaramaiah led Congress government. The BJP's victory in the forthcoming Assembly elections is certain," he added.

"Due to the BJP's wave Chief Minister Siddarmaiah is planning to contest in two Assembly constituencies as he is convinced of his defeat," Shah added.

The party would deliver pro-public administration under the leadership of B S Yeddyurappa, he said.
