''We will not pre-empt, we will not prompt or sidetrack anything on the issue,'' Acharya told reporters after Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa ordered a CID probe into the allegations.
The woman, who claims that she was sexually assaulted by Halappa, former food and civil supplies minister, has filed a complaint with the DGP last night, he said.
Asked whether the police would mete out the same treatment to Halappa as was done in the case of self-styled godman Nityananda, who has been arrested and remanded in judicial custody in two criminal cases, including rape, Acharya said "there will be no discrimination".
