Mother's Day today

Thousands of people all over the country will tell their mothers how much they love them. “It is sad that you need to have a special day to do this but with people so busy nowadays, we can't help it,” said Chetan Ankola, who was buying a bouquet for his mother at the Tilia flowershop on Old Airport Road.

While flowers will undoubtedly be the gift of choice, some presents are decidedly different. Zivannah Lewis is gifting her mother a day at a spa. “She'll get pampered the whole day and will come back de-stressed and then we’ll take her out to dinner,” Zivannah said.

Poonam Khedia, who just moved here from Delhi, won't be able to spend the day with her mother. “I'll call her up and tell her I love her. I've posted her a card but it may not reach her on time,” she said.

In the end whether you get to do it in person, or have to settle for a telephone call, today is the day to tell your mother how much you love her and to wish her a Happy Mother's Day.
