Ex-minister certified 'fit'

 Following objections from prosecution for a request to shift the tainted former minister, the court has reserved the order for Thursday.

Doctors at McGann Hospital in Shimoga, where Halappa is lodged at present, had recommended shifting of the former minister to Bangalore for treatment. Doctors had even certified him fit for travelling.

After the  hearing, Second JMFC Magistrate Ravikanth has sought a fresh evaluation of the health condition of Halappa.

Bail granted

A local court in Tirthahalli has granted anticipatory bail to Venkateshamurthy, husband of Chandravati, in connection with a criminal intimidation case registered against him, based on complaint lodged by his first wife, Sumitra.

Emotionally stirred

Halappa was said to be emotional at the ICU when BJP leaders and relatives met him. He had refused to meet his relatives and well-wishers on Monday, but was liberal on Tuesday.
Legislators K G Kumaraswamy and R K Siddaramanna met him on Tuesday. Leaders tried to console and instill confidence in Halappa who is emotionally stirred.
