Based on the information that the children were staying at a lodge in the City on the day of the incident, police visited the lodge on Saturday and checked the register. CID sleuths confiscated some documents from the lodge. Police interrogated the staff members of the lodge for five hours on Saturday.
In the complaint lodged against Halappa, it was said that the children were present at the home when the incident took place and Venkateshamurthy’s children were considered as witness in the case. CID had subjected them to interrogation last week and their statements were recorded.
CID police also visited the house at Damodar Colony in the city on Sunday where the incident is said to have taken place and conducted a fresh spot investigation.
