The beneficiaries were residents of Bovi Colony, Shivanahalli, Mariyappanapalya, R G Iyengar Colony, Harijanara Sangha, Manjunath Nagar and Chamundi Nagar.

With hordes of people converging on the Bruhat Bangalore Mahangara Palike (BBMP) office in Rajajinagar, it was a day of celebration for the people receiving their title deeds.

“I have witnessed the struggle by people present here for getting their title deeds. This is the day you have been waiting for,” said a beaming Suresh Kumar.

The minister claimed that his proposal had been accepted by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) for lowering  rates on per square foot.

“I have kept my promise of providing you with title deeds and at a nominal rate of Rs 200 per sqft from Rs 1,050 per sqft as set by the BDA,” said Kumar.

Excitement

It was an exciting moment for people eager to get the title deeds. Equally excited was the minister who distributed them, even while managing to pose for photographs with a broad smile. While the beneficiaries anxiously waited for their turn, the minister was trying to jostle for a photograph with elderly women, who received the title deeds from him.
