'ZP has failed to utilise SGY funds'

He was speaking at a programme organised to mark the birth anniversary of Masti Venkatesh Aiyengar, and distribute free cycles, by the Masti Venkatesh Aiyengar Pre-University College.
“Masti hobli had received the highest amount of grants in the taluk from the Government, but ZP officials’ indifferent attitude has halted all developmental works,” he said.
He urged the students, especially girl students, to utilise the schemes extended by the Government that provide them with free textbooks, uniforms and cycles. The minister announced that he would personally present students from the taluk, who top the State in SSLC and PUC examinations, a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. Also, students who stand first in the district will be presented with a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
Setty also pointed that there were irregularities in the transfer of sites to the farmers who were beneficiaries and advised the people’s representatives to let go of party politics in this regard.
He also laid the foundation stone for the construction of shops that are being built by the Gram Panchyat and added that Rs 15 lakh would be extended to this programme from the Legislators’ funds.
Former ZP president B M Krishnappa, Masti GP president Sudha Mohan Rao, TMC president Neelasandra, Taluk BJP president Krishna Reddy, Taluk Mahila Morcha president Yallamma, leaders Biregowda, T Gopalappa, Madhusudan M G, former GP president Shoukad Baig and other were present.
