Speaking on the occasion, he said “agriculture is the traditional occupation of Okkaliga community. However, they are giving priority to education which is need of the hour.”
He called upon the community members to identify the talents in rural areas and guide them to come to the mainstream of the society. Education has become a business in cities.
Poor can not afford to educate their children in prestigious schools owing to hefty fee.
“I have received a complaint on misappriation of property of the Okkaligara Sangha in Bangalore. MLA M P Appacchuranjan has also submitted an impartial report in this regard. The property will be in the hands of the Association within few days,” he added.
He said “Krishika Foundation is distributing sandalwood saplings free of cost to the needy in the district.”Bangalore Okkaligara Sangha Secretary Dr K Mahadevu also spoke. MLC S G Medappa and others were present.
