<p>Mithun only just returned from the Centre of Excellence in Brisbane after a stint there as one of the recipients of the Border-Gavaskar Scholarship when he received the pleasant surprise that he would be going to Zimbabwe to join the senior team and not to England with the ‘A’ team.<br /><br />The 20-year-old was practising with his India `A’ team-mates at the National Cricket Academy when he was informed of his selection.<br /><br />“It was a surprise, I was not expecting it,” said Mithun. “I was looking forward to the India `A’ tour of England.”<br /><br />Mithun said he had learnt a lot from his fortnight-long visit to Australia. “I learnt a lot during my stint with the Centre of Excellence. My legs were collapsing in the final delivery stride. I worked on solving that and also improved my pace. I now look forward to the games in Zimbabwe,” said Mithun, the second highest wicket-taker in the first-class season gone by, behind Vinay.<br /><br />BCCI secretary N Srinivasan said in a press release that Mithun will fly out as soon as formalities are completed. Mithun’s only one-dayer to date was against South Africa in Ahmedabad in February.</p>
