Wife done to death

The deceased is Roseline (58). The police have arrested husband Binny (74), a retired armyman.
Police said, Sojan, the son of Roseline and Binny is staying in USA, while the daughter resides in Mathikere. Binny wanted Sojan to return to India and settle in the City, but, Roseline was against the idea. This often led to frequent quarrels between the couple.  
They reportedly exchanged heated words over this issue again on Thursday night. In a fit of anger, Binny allegedly struck his wife with an iron rod. She died on the spot. Later, he tried to commit suicide by consuming poison. Neighbours rushed him to a nearby hospital.

Youth ends self

A 23-year-old person committed suicide on Thursday night by hanging when he was alone at home. Disappointment in life for having failed to secure a job is said to be the reason for suicide.
The deceased, Naveen Edward (23), a resident of Ejipura was a BCom graduate and was in search of a job for the several months. He was also depressed as his mother was ailing.

Ivory seized

The CID Forest Cell police arrested three persons in connection with ivory trade and recovered two tusks worth Rs 15 lakh. The accused are - Honnaraju (28) of Bhoovalli, Dhananjay (25) of Harohalli and Rajanna (38) of Dimbadahalli in Kanakapura.
Police said, the accused had brought the tusks from Muttatti forest area. On a tip off, the police caught them near Dimbadahalli village when they were trying to sell the tusks, police added.
