Creating waves internationally

She has just been signed with British agent Emma Engers who feels she is quite similar to Penelope Cruz. The overwhelming response towards Ferena has been so great that the First Minister of Scotland — Alex Salmond, personally invited her to a special dinner, which he hosted with Sir Sean Connery at Edinburgh Castle for the 64th Edinburgh International Film Festival.

The promising newcomer is certainly flying high and says, “I feel proud to be considered a representative of the Indian film industry in Scotland.” Jenny Erickson, special advisor to the first minister said, “Ferena is an international beauty. She added the glamour quotient to the dinner. The Scots just love Bollywood and are very excited to have a Scottish girl doing so well there.”

Amongst others in attendance were English actor Patrick Stewart (Star Trek, X-men) and American actress America Ferrera (Ugly Betty). Ferena was first seen on Indian screens in A R Rahman’s song for the Taj Mahal, Ek Hi Mohabbat, in which she embodied Mumtaz Mahal. Ferena will soon be seen in her next film Rang Rasiya with Randeep Hooda, where she plays a Parsi journalist. She is also working in Ketan Mehta’s next with Prateik Babbar.
