Financial assistance for students of minority and backward classes

The prescribed application format is available at the office of the Department or with the BCM extension officer at Taluk Panchayat.  The filled-in applications must reach the office before August 15. More information can be had on 08156-273553.

Applications are invited from pre-matric students of minority community students for grant of scholarship for the year 2010-11. Students of first to tenth standard are eligible to apply.  The applications must be submitted to the head of the respective institutions before July 15.  The heamaster should forward the completed application to the Block Education Officer within July 22.

The Backward Classes Welfare Department has invited applications from students seeking admissions to hostels for the year 2010-11.

Students belonging to Backward Classes and Minorities and who are studying their PUC, degree, professional and post graduate courses are eligible to apply. The hostels will provide free food, newspapers, library facility and the students can also pursue their computer courses.

The post-matric boys hostel near Santhe Gate in the City has 74 seats out of total 175 seats, the post-matric boys hostel near the town police station has 40 seats out of total 135 seats, there are 60 seats availables out of total 135 seats in the post-matric girls hostel in front of ETCM Hospital and 69 seats are vacant out of 100 seats in the post-matric boys hostel in Vemagal.

Interested persons can contact the respective students’ hostels and seek the prescribed application forms. They should submit the filled-in application forms before July 19.
