Last Updated 09 July 2010, 19:39 IST

Capt R R Doddihal, chief engineer (Reach 4, K R Market to R V Road) said, officials from the rank of superintendent of police, of the State would head an exclusive division for security needs of the Metro project, apart from installation of CCTVs at stations and in train coaches.
“While Reach-1 is on target for commissioning by the end of this year, Reach-4 would be commissioned in 2012. The piers (pillars) of the project would have crash barricades erected around them to prevent anyone from crashing into them,” he said.

The BMRCL would also ensure that each of the Metro stations will have disabled-friendly facilities. “The doors of the metro train will be on the same level as that of the metro station platform for easy boarding and exit,” he added.
