Doctors said the minister was out of danger though the condition of two others, who had also sustained injuries in the blast, continued to be critical.

One person was killed and three others, including the minister, were injured in the explosion near the minister’s residence in Allahabad town.

According to police sources, five persons have been detained in connection with the attack. They are said be close to Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and block president Dileep Mishra.
Like Nandy, Mishra also deals with government contracts and real estate. He is the younger brother of SP legislator Vijai Mishra, who faces several cases of murder, extortion and kidnappings, sources said.

Raids were conducted at many places in Allahabad, Bhadohi and neighbouring districts, police said.
