The college opened this week for the first year degree students and the new batch is curious to know more about the college and merge into the mainstream.
On the first day, though all the new students were welcomed on behalf of the management through a formal function, the students are also looking forward to the freshers’ party offered by their seniors.
Harshita S R, who secured fourth rank at the State level in PUC exams, says she joined this college because of its staff and that it is the favourite choice of any commerce student.
“I did my PUC in the same college. As I was a rank holder, I could have joined the other prestigious colleges in the City. But, as a student, I needed the best coaching and an inspiring staff and that’s why I am here. Along with academics, I am also interested in singing and dancing and I expect good guidance from the faculty in this regard as well,” she says.
Summit Jadhav has come all the way from Nepal and searching for friends in his class.
“Though I don’t know anyone here, I didn’t feel like an outsider. The atmosphere on the campus is calm and serene. I am looking for friends who would understand me and help me get accustomed to the new place,” says Summit.
Shrivatsa chose this college because of the placement opportunities and add-on programmes offered in the college.
“I am looking forward to attend the diploma certificate course in networking. This is a new programme offered by the college for first and second year degree students. This course will be an added advantage during placement time. The rules in the campus are not at all irritating and the dress code is simple,” he says.
