The protest was led by DCC President Veena Acchaiah, KPCC Member T P Ramesh, MLC C S Arun Machaiah and others. They shouted slogans against the BJP.

“By following goondaism, BJP MLAs and Ministers have brought black mark on the functioning of the Assembly. Instead of discussing the problems of the people, the MLAs and Miinisters are engaged in using muscle power. The Yeddyurappa government has failed in the administration of the State,” alleged Acchaiah.

The CM has openly announced that illegal mining is being carried out in the State. But, he is unable to initiate action against the Reddy brothers who are involved in looting the mines. The BJP government does not have any concern for the society, she added.

She said that the government should go for CBI probe into illegal mining. Failing to hand over the CBI enquiry, the CM should tender resignation. The CM has failed in solving the problems faced by the farmers, backward, minorities and labourers.

Zilla Panchayat former President K P Chandrakala, Bhanumanthi, B S Thammaiah, Virajpet TP President Saritha Poonaccha and others were present. A memorandum was submitted to the Governor through Deputy Commissioner K H Ashwathanarayana Gowda.
