Responding to this, Railway officials visited the spot on Thursday morning with JCBs and other equipment and cleared off the dangerous part of the hillock, thereby averting possible inconvenience and tragedy too that could have happened if the hillock had caved in. The cleaning operations are going on and helps being brought in from Madgaon.
Further, the railway department has also urged the City Corporation to close Kodikere road, which provides connectivity to the rehabilitation colony of MSEZ as similar cracks have been seen on the hillocks there.
