Taradevi flays Eshwarappa's statement

BJP Chief should take back his works and seek public apology
Last Updated 22 July 2010, 17:44 IST

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Taradevi said, ‘Eshwarappa should take back his statements and apologise in public. “Eshwarappa, who is the State President of BJP, does not know the values of democracy. His statement regarding Congress padayatre is the testimony to this fact,” she charged.  It is common that opposition parties chalk out political strategies to oppose anti-people policies of the government. Congress had planned to organise padayatre in this direction. However, Eshwarappa, who could not bear Congress move, has given such an unnecessary statement, she added.

“The State government is demoralising the democratic principles. The proposed padayatre is aimed at ensuring protection to the people of the State. However, the move has created tremors in BJP camps,” she said.

Talking about mining issue, Taradevi said that Tourism Minister G Janardhana Reddy is giving clarifications with regard to illegal mining issue on behalf of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa. “People have confusion in their mind as to whether the government is run by Yeddyurappa or Reddy brothers,” she ridiculed. There is no morality in showing money and muscle power in the Vidhana Sabha and speaking arrogantly against the Speaker. “Let Reddy brothers resign from their positiions, if they want to play street politics,” Taradevi challenged. Only a CBI inquiry will prove all scams being carried out with government backing, she added. Party district General Secretary Dr D L Vijayakumar, Spokesperson A N Mahesh and Town Committee President Shridhara Ural were present.
