Last Updated 23 July 2010, 12:01 IST

"We have filed a charge sheet in the special CBI court here. Shah is one of the accused in the case," an official of the premier investigating agency said.

CBI arrested Gujarat DCP Abhay Chudasama, an IPS officer, in the case on April 28. It had to file a charge sheet within the stipulated 90 days after the arrest. Hence, the document was filed today, CBI sources said.

The official, however, declined to provide further details on the charge sheet.
Shah, a key aide of Chief Minister Narendra Modi, was summoned for the second time in as many days to appear before the CBI by 1 pm for questioning in the 2005 case.

Instead, the minister's lawyer, Mitesh Amin, turned up at the CBI office demanding more time and questionnaire, but both requests were rejected.

CBI sent teams to locate Shah, while his lawyer moved the court for anticipatory bail.
Shah was summoned for questioning yesterday by the probe agency, but he failed to appear before it.

On November 24, 2005, Sohrabuddin, his wife Kausarbi and one Prajapati Tulsi were abducted from a bus stand in Gujarat.

Two days later, Sohrabuddin was allegedly killed by a joint police team from Gujarat and Rajasthan. Kausarbi was also allegedly killed later but her body was never found. Tulsi, the sole witness, too was killed in a fake encounter a year later.
