Cong, JD(S) keep off CM's meeting

Last Updated 26 July 2010, 19:09 IST

The meeting was organised to impress upon the MPs the need for raising state-related issues and pending projects in Parliament.

Though the Chief Minister’s Office had sent invitations to all MPs in the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha,  none of the MPs from the Opposition parties in the state attended the meeting.

Expressing unhappiness over the MPs’ absence, the chief minister said: “It was unfortunate that opposition MPs have stayed away from the meeting and I will request them not to play politics in developmental issues.”

However, the chief minister said he would again convene a meeting of state MPs before the completion of the session and request them to raise issues of state interests in Parliament.
