Team Spirit

 The sportsmen and women of various teams were also formally inducted as sportspersons of the college. Principal  Dr Daniel Fernandes, inaugurated the activities for 2010-11 at a simple Sports Induction Ceremony.

He urged the students to excel in both sports and academics while keeping in mind the true spirit of sportsmanship. He also announced that 10 grace marks in internal assessment will be given to students who represent the college sports teams and excel.

Dr Lily David, the Dean of Studies spoke about developing the rapport between the sports students and the faculty. While understanding the need to help students engaged in competitive sporting events to keep up with their classes and academics, she also advised them not to miss classes and neglect their studies.

 Sonia Noronha, the students’ sports coordinator, who was also instrumental in coordinating this programme along with the sports director led the captains of various teams in taking a sportsman's pledge "to be loyal, disciplined and dedicated to the cause of sports and to bring honour and glory to the college by upholding the prestige of the college in sports arena."

 The Sports Director, William Joseph introduced the State, University, and National sports representatives to the gathering. The coaches of the college teams were also introduced and felicitated. The programme was well-attended by heads of various departments, members of the faculty both teaching and non-teaching, members of students' council, college sports committee, sports representatives of the classes and all sports persons.

 Michelle Bakes, captain of the Women’s Football team welcomed the gathering, and Sonia Noronha proposed the vote of thanks. A video presentation of the college sports scene was also presented on this occasion. The event was well compered by Prateek Khincha.
