Three persons have been arrested in this connection. The arrested are Vijay Monteiro, Sayyed Manjeshwar and Ramachandra Manjeshwar.
Acting on a tip-off, the officials raided a house where the illicit liquor was stored. The seized goods include 3,500 litres of spirit, 100 boxes of illicit liquor, 6,500 empty bottles, sintex tanks, 40 cans of whiskey with 35-litre capacity, 15,000 sachets with 15,000 litres of illicit liquor, 2 pumps, bottle capping machine, 2,000 caps and a mini truck among other equipment.
The seizure and the arrest were conducted under the supervision of Excise Joint Commissioner Bheemappa and Excise Deputy Commissioner N M Hussain.
