Magendran of CRPF laid to rest

Magendran, who had been a resident of Champions’ Reefs R Block (East) in Kolar Gold Fields, had enrolled for the CRPF and worked in the Special Protection Group for some time, providing protection to VIPs.

He had even been part of the protection force for UPA leader Sonia Gandhi for some time, said his family members.

The CRPF Jawans paid their last respects to Magendran, who body was brought home on Monday morning. An IGP-level official of the Special Protection Group visited Magendran’s family and condoled the death of their relative.

“Magendran was a duty-bound Jawan and we are extremely saddened by this loss,” added an official who refused to be named, speaking to DHNS. Although Magendran had returned to CRPF from SPG, his sense of duty is unforgettable. “His sense of friendship has brought me to KGF,” said the official.

The last rites were performed at the cemetry of Champions’ Reefs on Monday evening.
