Kushalnagar TP presents Rs 177.98 lakh surplus budget

 The budget estimated a sum of Rs 1,013.56 lakh income for 2009-10 and expenditure of Rs 835.58 lakh, thereby amounting to a surplus of Rs 177.98 lakh. As per President H J Kariappa, Rs 14 lakh has been set aside for street lighting and Rs 3 lakh has been set aside for electrification works in new extensions.

A sum of Rs 6 lakh for minor water supply projects, Rs 5.15 lakh for management of park spaces in the town, Rs 6.20 lakh for waste disposal and hygiene, Rs 10 lakh for waste management, Rs 46.30 lakh for salary of employees are some of the other allocation. A sum of Rs 4.57 lakh has been kept aside for welfare of SC/St under 18 per cent funds, he informed and added that Town Panchayat intends to get Rs 23 lakh under 12th Finance Plan for development of roads and drains, waste management, Rs 50 lakh for IDSMP Project, Rs 200 lakh for development of the Town under SFC grant and Rs 100 lakh under special grant from the government.

The TP has set a target of collecting 123.62 lakh from land, asset and buildings, business license, taxes and cess and other sources. The TP expects a sum of Rs 408.50 lakh from the government during this year. Infrastructure will be provided to people using the remaining fund of Rs 349.07 lakh from the last year.
