MP promises training centre for Home Guards

Stating that it is necessary for all schools to include home guard training, he said that the State must see that the number of home guards are at least twice the police force, as they can contribute during several calamities.

He said that he would urge both Union Home Minister P Chidambar and Karnataka Home Minister V S Acharya to increase the pay of home guard personnel to Rs 250 per day from the current Rs 175.

P Amarnath of the Home Guards said that his department needs this kind of support and encouragement in order to enhance its contribution to the society.
