<p>Nasir Ahmed Butt, a fruit vendor, was killed yesterday in Faisalabad, located 100 km from Lahore, police said today.<br /><br />Following the killing of Butt, a delegation of Ahmedi leaders met regional police chief Aftab Cheema and asked him to protect members of the minority sect who are being targeted by religious extremists.<br /><br />Cheema assured them that police would arrest the criminals responsible for the murder and provide protection to the community.<br />Three Ahmedis were gunned down near Abdullah Pur, located within Faisalabad district, by unidentified men some time ago.<br /><br />Police have not made any arrests in connection with those killings.<br />Earlier this year, 95 Ahmedi worshippers were killed when a group of suicide attackers stormed two mosques of the sect in Lahore.</p>
