Ahmadi man shot dead by unidentified men in Punjab

Nasir Ahmed Butt, a fruit vendor, was killed yesterday in Faisalabad, located 100 km from Lahore, police said today.

Following the killing of Butt, a delegation of Ahmedi leaders met regional police chief Aftab Cheema and asked him to protect members of the minority sect who are being targeted by religious extremists.

Cheema assured them that police would arrest the criminals responsible for the murder and provide protection to the community.
Three Ahmedis were gunned down near Abdullah Pur, located within Faisalabad district, by unidentified men some time ago.

Police have not made any arrests in connection with those killings.
Earlier this year, 95 Ahmedi worshippers were killed when a group of suicide attackers stormed two mosques of the sect in Lahore.
