'Rowdy' stabbed to death

Absar, a resident of Sarapalya was talking to a friend when the men attacked him near the Ashwath Nagar bus stop.

Absar sustained multiple injuries, police said. He was listed as rowdy in the KG Halli police station.

Police are looking at old rivalry as one of the reason for his killing.

According to police, Afsar took to crime in 1993 and had nearly a dozen cases of attempt to murder, rape, robbery, theft and extortion registered against him in KG Halli, City Market, Kalasiplaya, Kengeri and Basaveswara Nagar police stations like, police said.

22-yr-old murdered

A 22-year-old youth was bludgeoned to death in Kamakshipalya area on Saturday late night. The victim, Shankar Nag, was a daily wage labourer and a resident of Kamakshipalya.

According to the police, miscreants used concrete blocks to crush his head.

“His body was found on Sunday at around 6.15 am. He had left home with some of his friends at around 8.30 pm on Saturday,” the police said.

Cylinder blast

A 55-year-old woman has sustained minor burns when an LPG cylinder burst due to  leakage on Sunday morning in Kodigehalli.

According to the police, the incident occurred at around 8.30 am as the victim Sampangamma forgot to switch off the valve of the cylinder. She was admitted in the Victoria Hospital.

The blast has also partially damaged her house.
