Two women end lives in B'lore

A home maker ended her life allegedly due to dowry harassment at Cholurpalya in Vijaynagar police station on Sunday night. Police have identified the dead as Vani (23), who was married to Narasimha Murthy five-years ago. The couple have two children. Vani consumed poison as she was unable to bear Murthy’s torture demanding more dowry, police said. However, Vani’s parents alleged that Murthy poisoned their daughter to death. Vani had informed us about Murthy’s torture for more dowry, they added.

Woman hangs self
In another incident, a 24-year-old woman hanged herself at her Hoysalanagar residence in Ramamurthynagar. Police have identified the dead as Vasantha, a private firm employee.
Vasantha’s brother had availed loans from many people and money lenders allegedly tormented Vasantha for repayment. She committed suicide on Sunday night. The incident came to light on Monday morning, the police said. Vasantha and her family members who were earlier staying in Vijaynagar shifted to Hoysalanagar to avoid financiers, they added.

Seven held for dacoity bid
Chamarajpet police thwarted a dacoity attempt and arrested seven persons:  Gururaj alias Quarters Raja, a notorious rowdy-sheeter Raja (26), Raja (20),  Vikram (19), Chidananda (21), Anil (19), Panduranga (21) and Nagaraj (20).
