Hyundai new i10 now in State

The new version compact car sports new look, has new engines and comes with several contemporary features.

The new i10, which will replace the existing model, gives choice of two petrol engines - 1.1litre iRDE2 and 1.2 litre Kappa2 VTVT (variable timing valve train). The company claimed that .2 litre Kappa2 VTVT engine delivers maximum power of 80 PS@6000 rpm and maximum torque of 11.4 Kgm@4000 rpm. It also claimed that this engine has ARAI certified mileage of 20.36 km per litre, making i10 the most fuel efficient petrol car in compact segment and above.

The smaller 1.1 litre iRDE2 engine delivers maximum power of 69PS@5500 rpm and maximum torque of 10.1 Kgm@4500 rpm. It has ARAI certified mileage of 19.81 litre under ideal test conditions. Both engines are BS IV compliant.  The car is available in an array of 8 colours (including 5 new colours).

Announcing the launch, Hyundai Motor India Ltd Director  Marketing Arvind Saxena said “In the new i10 we have further boosted the design elements and packed it with safety and comfort-related technological innovations. The result is a truly unique next generation car. With the introduction of new i10, we expect sales of this car to rise by 15 to 20 per cent.”

The ex-showroom prices of new i10 in Bangalore market are: 1.1 litre car will cost between Rs 3.51 lakh (base model) to Rs 4.02 lakh (top end) and 1.2 litre VTVT will cost between Rs 4.19 lakh (base) and Rs 4.79 lakh (top end). 

In terms of design, the new i10 sports a modern all-new front-end design, its centerpiece is new chrome radiator grill which features contemporary chrome detailing and it also boasts of a bracing set of 3D wraparound headlamps with multi-reflector chrome surround fog lamps. The bumpers have also been redesigned with new front grille to lend a more aggressive look.

The car also comes with gear shift indicator display, digital fuel indicator, Bluetooth, steering mounted audio & bluetooth controls and multiple power outlets. The top end variants come with ABS (Antilock Braking System) and are equipped with reverse parking sensor.
