Rotten vegetables, filth welcome TP chief in hostels

When the President visited Mailimane BCM hostel, he found that warden of the hostel had not visited the hostel for the last one week. Of the three cooks, only one cook was present.

In the cooked food, he found husks. Looking at the condition of the hostel, he called the senior officials of the department and took the hostel personnel to task.

He urged the personnel to give priority to cleanliness in the hostel along with supplying quality food to the students. He also urged the officials to visit the hostels.

Later, he visited Anoor Hostel where, he found that the rice for evening was prepared in the morning itself. Poor quality of vegetables were seen on the floor. He urged the officials to purchase good quality vegetables to the hostels.

He also listened to the woes of the students. He said the toilets must be kept clean and the students should be given hair cut very often. He also urged the concerned to repair solar lamp which had been spoiled for the last three months.

When he visited hostel run by Social Welfare department on Belur road, the students urged him to supply boiled drinking water. Lokesh urged the social welfare department official to initiate action against a cook who was missing from the hostel after signing in the attendance register.

The President said no hostels display a list of food being supplied to the children.
