4th state finance panel report submitted

The Fourth State Finance Commission on Wednesday submitted its report to the government.

Commission member H Shashidhar, a retired IAS officer, submitted the report to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.

As per the terms of reference assigned to the commission (December 21, 2015), the commission was required to review the financial position of zilla panchayats, taluk panchayats and gram panchayats, municipal corporations, city municipal councils, town municipal councils and town panchayats. The commission was thereafter required to make recommendations to the governor to improve the financial positions of the local bodies.
