JOIN USThe Malpe police arrested a private TV channel reporter for allegedly obstructing discharging of duty and assaulting Excise Inspector Chandramohan. The arrested is Shijith (34). The court has remanded him in judicial custody till April 30.
Chandramohan was in the team of model code of conduct ahead of the election. The team had inspected a lunch home on Saturday night. When Chandramohan was returning with a food parcel, the reporter, along with his friend, followed the vehicle of the officer and waylaid him at Malpe Cross. He abused the officer and started filming him, which led to an exchange of words.
Later, the reporter and his friend assaulted Chandramohan. Another suspect fled the spot. The test has confirmed that the arrested had consumed liquor.
