Dalita Sangharsha Samiti ended their dharna after the district in-charge minister spoke to the Samiti leaders over the phone and assured the fulfilling of their demands.

On Sunday, MLC Veena Acchaiah met the protesters in front of the Mini Vidhana Soudha and tried to persuade them to end the dharna. But the DSS members maintained that they would not return to the line houses and would stay at the relief centres or at the government sites by constructing sheds.

The MLC later contacted District In-charge Minister Sa Ra Mahesh and provided a room for discussion between DSS district convener Parashuram and the minister.

After the telephonic conversation, Parashuram said that the minister has assured the fulfilling of their demands.

"Also, the minister has provided permission to construct temporary sheds at the sites identified by the government. Beneficiaries may construct the sheds at Birunani, Teralu, Betoli and Kedamulluru villages. As the minister has assured that the government will provide houses in the days to come, the dharna has been ended temporarily."
