JOIN USTMC broken, Mamata Banerjee playing politics with dead bodies: Narendra Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee has an old habit of resorting to politics with the dead. Referring to the death of five people at Sitalkuchi in Cooch Behar district, he further alleged that Mamata was trying to politicize the incident.
“Doing politics over the dead is Mamata didi’s old habit. It is extremely unfortunate that she is resorting to politics over death. It has become clear in the audiotapes,” said Modi. He was referring to the audiotape released by the BJP where the TMC supremo is purportedly heard telling the party Cooch Behar district president Partha Pratim Roy to hold rallies with the bodies of those who died in firing by the CISF.

Speaking at a rally at Asansol in West Bardhaman district, the Prime Minister said that the TMC was shattered after the four phases of the Assembly elections and the ‘Didi-Bhatija’ will be defeated after the eight-phase elections are over. He also accused the TMC of “rampant corruption”.
Modi alleged that even when it comes to severe issues such as the Covid-19 pandemic, Mamata does not bother to attend meetings of the Chief Minister called by him due to her “arrogance”.
“Her repeated absence from these meetings clearly shows that Didi does not have time for the development of Bengal. She considers herself above the Constitution. She is blind with arrogance,” said Modi.
Exuding confidence that the TMC will be ousted from power, the Prime Minister said that the people of Bengal will give Mamata a memorable certificate as a “former Chief Minister which she can keep in her room for her life and continue looking at it”.
At another rally at Gangarampur in South Dinajpur district, the Prime Minister took potshots at Mamata over her frequent diatribes against him. He said that the TMC supremo’s day is not complete without abusing him.
“Didi abuses me every other day and even says that she will make me do squats holding my ears. Didi, if you had pulled the ears of extortionists who loot the people of the state and made your nephew do squats, you would not be in such a situation,” said Modi.
The Prime Minister also said that by “showering abuses” on him, Mamata tarnished the culture, sweetness of language and legacy of Bengal.
