The elections to the 288-member Maharashtra Legislative Assembly will be held in a single-phase on November 20. The results for the same will be declared on November 23.

The state is about to witness a nerve wracking battle for power between the major political alliances, Maha Yuti and Maha Vikas Aghadi.

On this note, let us understand how can one change the address on the voter ID if needed:

Ahead of elections, in case a voter wishes to change their address on their voter ID card, they can do so from the Voter Portal.

The steps to to change the address on your voter ID card are mentioned below:

1. Visit the National Voters Services Portal at www.nvsp.in and register yourself on the portal.

2. Choose the form 'Shifted to other Place'. You'll will be required to provide your voter ID card number and complete a short verification process.

3. Once the verification process is completed, pick either of these options: 'shifted outside Assembly Constituency' or 'shifted within Assembly Constituency', according to your case.

4. Now fill in your new address, upload an image and other required documents. Once the details are filled, do verify all details in the form before submitting it.

Upon completion of all these steps, a reference ID will be generated for tracking the status of the application.

The documents required for the procedure will be recent passport-size colour photograph and scanned copies of documents for proof of age and residence.
