Amidst a war of words between Congress and JD(S) leaders in Karnataka, Congress president Rahul Gandhi summoned the state Congress leaders to discuss the issue.

Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, state unit president Dinesh Gundu Rao, Senior leader Mallikarjuna Kharge and others will attend the meeting scheduled here on Sunday. Karnataka in charge General secretary K C Venugopal will be present in the meeting.

In the meeting, Rahul is likely to ask the state leaders about the verbal engagements between leaders from Congress and JD(S). He is likely to seek leaders opinion on Deve Gowda' s complaint to Congress leadership.

Since Congress promised to give extend its support to Kumaraswamy headed coalition government to complete five-year term, Rahul may ask the state leaders to not to air their opinion in publicly and respect coalition dharma.

A few days back JD(S) Supremo H D Deve Gowda called Venugopal and complained against Congress leaders for non co-operation in the recently held Lok Sabha polls and criticising the CM Kumaraswamy.

Deve Gowda's complaint came in the background of Home Minister M B Patil's recent statement that Congress leaders and workers want to see Siddaramaiah as CM again. Subsequently, both the parties leaders engaged in a war of words.
