David Warner set for Tollywood debut with Telugu film 'Robinhood'

Former star cricketer and Cricket Australia’s run-machine David Warner is widely known for his admiration of Indian cinema. Time and again, he has grabbed attention by recreating iconic movie scenes and dancing to movie songs both on and off the field. His passion for Indian films has now earned him a role in the Telugu movie Robinhood, marking his entry into the Indian film industry.

According to Hindustan Times, David Warner is all set to make his acting debut in Venky Kudumula's movie Robinhood. The filmmaker kept David Warner on his mind while writing the script. Warner, who was getting several offers from the Telugu industry, got excited about his role in Robinhood and decided to make his cinema debut with this film.

“We made a presentation to David, and he loved it. We flew to Australia for David’s shoot because we had to keep this a secret,” filmmaker Venky confirmed it to Hindustan Times.

Earlier, David Warner was seen in a commercial alongside renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli, grabbing nationwide attention. Besides this, Warner has been a familiar face in several advertisements during his IPL during his IPL journey.

Industry insiders believe that his special cameo will add an extra layer of excitement for audiences. Helmed by Venky Kudumula, the movie stars Nithiin and Sreeleela in the lead roles, and David's role won't be just a blink-and-miss role but an integral part of the film’s narrative.
