Best film awards at BIFFes are out

With the 11th edition of the Bengaluru International Film Festival coming to a close, the awards for the best films of the year have been declared.

In the Kannada cinema competition, the award for the best film has gone to Mookajiya Kanasugalu by P. Sheshadri, Savitribhai Phule by Vishaal Raj and Ramana Savari by Stoiney Joseph Pais.

The NETPAC International Jury Prize for Kannada cinema has gone to Nathicharami by Mansore.

The award for the most Kannada film of the awards has predictably gone to K.G.F. Chapter 1 by Prashanth Neel.

The award for the second most popular Kannada film of the year has gone to Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shaale, Kasaragodu.

Tagaru by Soori has won the award for the third most popular Kannada film of the year.

In the Chitrabharati Indian cinema competition, the Best Indian Film Award has gone to Taking the horse to eat Jalebis by Anamika Haksar

The Special Jury award in the same section has gone to Aamrithyu by Arup Manna.

The FIPRESCI award has also gone to Taking the horse to eat Jalebis.

The Tamil film Sivaranjini and other women, which proved immensely popular during its screening for talking about women’s issue, has been awarded ‘Best Film’ in the Asian film competition.
