Kangana Ranaut compares herself to Meryl Streep, gets trolled

This is not the first time Kangana Ranaut has garnered attention with her bold comments
Last Updated 10 February 2021, 06:27 IST

Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut took to Twitter on Tuesday to compare herself with actors Meryl Streep and Gal Gadot. 'Queen' said that she has 'raw talent' like the Hollywood legend and can execute action scenes just like the Wonder Woman star. Kangana shared stills from her movies in a bid to prove her point.

Her comments garnered a fair deal of attention with most netizens trolling her for being 'narcissistic'.

Some of them, however, came to her defence and praised her for being a 'real talent'.

This, interestingly, is not the first time that Kangana has become the talk of the town due to her outspoken nature.

The Gangster actor had once remarked that the National Awards would 'lose their credibility' if she did not bag top honours for her work in the period-drama Manikarnika. She has also frequently targeted Taapsee Pannu, calling her a 'B-grade' performer.

Kangana, meanwhile, is going through a busy phase on the work front. The star is gearing up for the release of the pan-India movie Thalaivi, which revolves around the life of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister the late J Jayalalithaa. The film, directed by AL Vijay, has been shot on a big budget and is touted to be a game-changer for Kangana. It has a strong cast that includes Prakash Raj and Arvind Swami. The Singam antagonist plays Karunanidhi in the magnum opus.

The Roja star, on the other hand, essays the role of the legendary mass leader MGR. The film was slated to hit the screens last year but that did not happen due to the Covid-19 pandemic. One is likely to get clarity on the new release date in the coming months.

Kangana will also be seen in the action-packed movie Dhaakad, which features her in the role of a braveheart named Agni.

The biggie has a star-studded cast that includes Divya Dutta and Arjun Rampal. It is slated to hit the screens on October 1. The star recently confirmed that she will be playing former prime minister Indira Gandhi in a film dealing with the Emergency and Operation Blue Star.
