'Vikram' teaser: Kamal Haasan's new avatar is a treat for fans

This marks Lokesh Kanagaraj's first collaboration with Kamal Haasan

Director Lokesh Kangaraj on Saturday unveiled the latest teaser of actor Kamal Haasan's latest movie Vikram much to the delight of 'Ulaga Nayagan' fans. It features the seasoned performer in an intense new avatar and caters to those fond of realistic action sequences. The video suggests that the biggie will feature a jail setting and several tense moments. If this is indeed the case, the flick may mark a new beginning for him as he hasn't done too many actioners in his career.

Vikram reportedly revolves around the adventures of a 'ghost' and touches upon the burning issue of corruption. It has an impressive cast that includes Vikram Sethupathi and Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil. 'FaFa', the star of Malayalam films such as Joji and Malik, reportedly plays the role of a corrupt cop in the Kaithi helmer's magnum opus. He previously impressed the Tamil audience with his performances in Velaikkaran and Super Deluxe. He will be hoping to consolidate his standing in Kollywood with Vikram. Sethupathi, on the other hand, had some time ago revealed that he took up the film merely to work with 'Kamal sir'.

Its action scenes have been choreographed by Anbu-Arivu, best known for their work in the Kannada blockbuster KGF. The music has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander and many feel that it will cater to the younger generation. It is slated to hit the screens in 2022.

Kamal, meanwhile, is busy with the latest season of Bigg Boss Tamil. The star has Indian 2, directed by Shankar, in his kitty but the biggie was put on hold due to Covid-19-related travel restrictions. It revolves around the fight against corruption and stars Kajal Aggarwal as the leading lady. The cast includes Siddharth and Rakul Preet.
